Have kids or grandkids? Tired of their toys everywhere with no place to put them? Our toy chest may be the answer. We made the toy chest for our own grandchildren. Worked like a charm. Raised to about 9 inches with a stay-up safety lid, easy for the children to get to their toys or put them away. And if you have a toddler, we add double doors below the opening for easier access. Your children will love the toy chest.
RECYCLED: The wine barrel toy chest gives us the outside of a real wine barrel with its hoop, rack and wine stains. This toy chest is a full size wine barrel and lays on it’s side on a barrel stand similar to the way they are in the winery. Using retired wine barrels adds a special touch for those who are sensitive to ecology and recycling.
UNIQUE: The toy chest is a whole wine barrel. The lid has toy lid hinges made to keep the lid from falling on little hands. We have an option for double doors placed lower on the barrel for toddlers. The stand is made from the barrel heads and staves with a douglas fir option. All are 1“ solid white oak. The toy chest is rustic by design. We use a Danish oil with a medium walnut stain to finish the toy chest. We find that each barrel takes the stain and oil in its own way along with their markings being slightly different, hence no two toy chests will be the same.
HAND CRAFTED: It is hand crafted by us with love and quality in mind here in California, USA. Every product is custom made to order. Please allow us up to 3 weeks after payment to create your toy chest.

Please note that although the same care and quality is put into all of our products, there will be natural variation due to the wood selection (either French or American white oak), wood figure, winery or cooperage markings, wine stains from the inside of the barrel, and other factors. No two pieces will be identical and each has its own story to tell!
